Live Biotherapeutics Drug Discovery Services for Gastric Cancer

Probiotics are wildly popular. After all, they are available over the counter and helpful in the treatment of gastric cancer for some people. Creative Biolabs is committed to providing overall solutions for next-generation probiotics (NGPs) discovery, bioprocess development. Our seasoned scientists are experts at project evaluation through technical, economic, sustainability, and engineering to translate from lab scale to scale up. Our comprehensive powerful platform and abundant experience make us a perfect partner to help our clients with NGPs development for the treatment of gastric cancer.

Introduction of Gastric Cancer

Gastric cancer represents the second cause of cancer-related death worldwide, accounting for approximately 10% of newly diagnosed cancers. The five-year survival rate of patients with gastric cancer is under 25% with regional variations. As the major risk factors of gastric cancer, Helicobacter pylori is a common microaerophilic bacterium. H. pylori is a Gram-negative bacterium that can disrupt the acid mucus barrier and colonize the gastric epithelium, and is found in patients who are suffering from gastric cancer. It has become a focus of interest worldwide and studies on probiotics for the treatment of gastric cancer are mainly focused on eliminating H. pylori infection.

Mechanisms of Probiotics for the Treatment of Gastric Cancer

Probiotics have become very important in medicine because of their useful effects on host health. Numerous in vitro studies and animal models showed positive effects of probiotics on gastric cancer. Inhibitory effects of probiotics on H. pylori infection have been observed in several animal models containing Bifidobacterium bifidum, Lactobacillus acidophilus, Lactobacillus rhamnosus, Lactobacillus salivarius, and other probiotic strains. These positive effects are driven by various mechanisms, including anti-carcinogenic effects, anti-mutagenic properties, modification of differentiation process, production of short-chain fatty acids, changes of tumor gene-expression, activation immune system and inhibition of the conversion of pro-carcinogens to carcinogens, etc. Different mechanisms can be involved in the beneficial effects mainly via modulation of gut microbiota that thereby influences host metabolism and immunity.

NGPs Discovery Service at Creative Biolabs

According to a recent meta-analysis, using probiotics as supplementation with antibiotic therapy is very useful to the H. pylori eradication for the treatment of gastric cancer. With professional technical scientists and comprehensive powerful platforms, scientists at Creative Biolabs are experts at potential NGP identification, GMP scale-up, and their tech-economical evaluation. We have gained significant knowledge in the identification of NGP strains, dosages, and administration regimes for specific types and stages of gastric cancer.

Powered by state-of-the-art technology and industry-leading expertise, Creative Biolabs is fully competent and dedicated to serving as your one-stop-shop for NGPs development. For more detailed information, please feel free to contact us or directly send us an inquiry.
