Thermomyces is a genus of fungi that are thermophilic. T. lanuginosus is used in industrial biotechnology for producing thermostable enzymes. Genomic DNA from Thermomyces is used to study the genetics of thermophilic fungi and to optimize the production of industrial enzymes.
